RAIN SHADOW RABBITRY
RAIN SHADOW RABBITRY
I currently raise German Angora, Satin Angora and Satin rabbits in Southwest Washington. I am most interested in the heritage use of rabbits as part of a more self-sufficient lifestyle. I’ve chosen German and Satin Angoras for their fiber production and Satins for their meat and fur production.
I’m strongly committed to providing my rabbits with a high quality of life. Each rabbit has a living environment of over seven square feet and also gets frequent exercise in a large fenced outdoor yard. They love eating fresh grass and digging in the dirt! They are also handled and groomed regularly to ensure that they keep a calm temperament.
Each rabbit is provided with an assortment of toys to provide entertainment and exercise. These include hard plastic toys, empty soda cans, metal rings, willow mats, pine cones, and fresh apple branches.
My rabbits have unlimited access to fresh water and orchard grass hay. They are given high quality rabbit pellets, and supplements of oat groats and other grains. I also garden for my rabbits, keeping a variety of fresh herbs, leaves, vegetables and fruits available for daily treats.
I am a member of several regional and national rabbit clubs. They provide a wealth of knowledge about many aspects of the rabbit hobby, and I enjoy the opportunity to learn as much as I can from these groups.
